Educere Alliance Featured Projects

How can education support wellbeing and environmental sustainability? By engaging all our senses and imagination and allowing them to flow unfettered; promoting play and exploration rather than expectation and explanation; honing care, attention, acceptance, curiosity and appreciation of the world through skilled practice; opening and improvising instead of providing ready-made solutions.

Collective Project Goals

The alliance brings together people committed to education that honours the vast expanse of human creativity in order to:

  • Support a network of local communities committed to sustainable education
  • Promote cooperation between educational and research institutions, governmental, industry and third-sector stakeholders
  • Encourage/revive a wide range of crafts through which communities can sustain senses of belonging and pride as well as livelihood
  • Apply (biosocial) research to understand how humans can support thriving ecosystems
  • Explore meaningful learning and research practices beyond disciplines
  • Reduce the gap between conceptual and intuitive knowledge.

Role of anthropology

Role of anthropology

Anthropological practice, as well as other disciplines, can contribute to the above mentioned goals by pursuing research and education as an inseparable exploratory process. This, in essence, involves learning with and from all sentient beings including humans, animals and plants as well as with materials and the wider world. When anthropology involves an open and generous mode of learning and understanding the world of others, it is coupled with personal and social reflection, challenging our assumptions and opening up new possibilities for action and engagement.

book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.
